How to strengthen lungs with asthma?

I've had asthma since childhood, and sometimes even simple activities leave me breathless. My pulmonologist said I need to strengthen my lungs. Are there any exercises or natural remedies that can help me with this, considering my asthma?

Before starting any lung exercises, make sure to get a spirometry test done to see your actual capacity. It costs around 500 to 800 rupees in most local labs, so plan your monthly budget accordingly. Don't waste money on fancy breathing gadgets online, simple balloon blowing and steam inhalation at home are practically free and work well.

I've had mild asthma since childhood, so I only do what my body tolerates. For me, very gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom has helped build some stamina over the years. I always keep my inhaler close and never push myself too hard. Everyone's body is different, so please check with your specialist first.

Bhaiya, asthma me thand se bachna bahut zaroori hai. Roz subah halka gunguna paani piyo aur thoda sa haldi wala doodh raat ko liya karo. Dhool aur mitti se thoda door raho, aur jab thik lage toh ghar ke aangan me hi dhire-dhire tahla karo. Bhagwan sab thik karenge, dhyan rakho apna.

I track my oxygen saturation and pulse rate using a smart band during my workouts. For asthma, you can try low-intensity cardio but keep monitoring your heart rate zone. I use an app that guides me through 5-minute deep breathing sessions every morning. It slowly builds lung capacity without over-exerting.

Honestly, trying to run a marathon with asthma on day one is a bad idea, so let's skip that! Start with simple things like blowing candles or laughing out loud with friends—it's actually a great lung workout. Just keep that blue inhaler in your pocket like a VIP pass and you're good to go.

My grandmother always suggests warm pepper rasam to soothe the chest, which is comforting. But for asthma, I strictly follow my doctor's advice on using the preventer inhaler daily. Regular, light walking in clean air during the evening has slowly helped improve my breathing capacity over time.
