How to stop stomach pain after taking a laxative?

My doctor recommended a laxative for my constipation, but it often leaves me with severe stomach pain afterwards. It works, but the side effects are tough. What can be done to stop the stomach pain after taking a laxative?

Honestly, I faced this exact same issue last week when I took Dulcolax. The cramps were so bad but drinking warm water slowly really helped calm my stomach down. Just lie on your left side and don't eat anything heavy for a few hours till it passes.

Ah, the classic mistake of trusting a laxative too much! My stomach felt like a mixer grinder yesterday. Just sip some warm buttermilk or weak black tea and wait it out, we have to pay the price for cleared intestines, no?

These quick-fix laxatives always mess up our system and even affect my blood pressure when I strain too much. I had to consult my doctor who told me to stop these pills and focus on high-fiber food and regular walking. Please get a proper checkup done if the pain doesn't stop soon.

My son had terrible cramps after the doctor gave him a syrup for constipation. I gave him a warm compress on his tummy with a hot water bag and it worked wonders to relax the muscles. Please make sure you are drinking lots of water so you don't get dehydrated.

Haan yaar, yeh laxative stomach pain bahut ganda hota hai. Actually what works is light sa saunf ka paani boil karke pi lo, usse gas and cramping dono me relief milega. Try to avoid heavy food today, okay na?

Beta, whenever the stomach gets upset with these English medicines, we must give it some rest. You can take a small spoonful of ginger juice with warm water, or just sit quietly with a hot bag on your stomach. If the pain is very severe, do not wait at home and go see a doctor immediately.

I am also feeling very uncomfortable today after taking a mild laxative for the first time. Is it normal to feel a bit nauseous along with this stomach pain? If anyone can suggest how long this usually lasts, it would be really helpful.
