How to stop sleep talking naturally?

My family tells me I talk a lot in my sleep and sometimes even make sense! It's a bit embarrassing. Are there any natural ways to stop sleep talking?

It used to make me feel so insecure when I stayed at friends' places because I was terrified of sleep talking. Please don't feel bad, it's just your brain processing stress. Creating a very calm, cozy bedtime routine really helped me feel safer and quieter at night.

I agree that stress is the main trigger. Try avoiding heavy meals and spicy food close to bedtime as it keeps your digestion active and disturbs sleep.

Doing 10 minutes of Bhramari Pranayama (humming bee breath) before sleeping can naturally calm your nervous system. It quietens the active thoughts in the brain, which is often the main reason we talk in our sleep. Try it gently every night.

I actually just got over this recently after my roommate complained about it daily. I stopped drinking tea in the evenings and started keeping a fixed bedtime. Honestly, just sleeping at the exact same time every night solved about 90% of the problem for me.

Stay positive and take care of your inner peace, my friend. Listening to some soft, meditative chants or peaceful music before sleeping can bring harmony to your mind. When the mind rests peacefully, the body remains calm throughout the night.

I used to mumble and talk a lot in my sleep when my thyroid hormone levels were completely unbalanced. Once I got my blood tests done and started regular doctor follow-ups, my sleep pattern improved drastically. Please consider getting your hormone levels checked.
