For immediate relief, you can apply a cold compress or a cool gel pack to the area. However, because psoriasis is an autoimmune issue, please get your skin examined by a dermatologist before applying any random over-the-counter creams.

My mother always suggested applying pure virgin coconut oil immediately to soothe any dry skin irritation. It does give instant cooling, but for proper long-term relief from psoriasis flares, I always follow the ointments prescribed by my skin doctor.

When the itch attack strikes, my immediate reaction is to run to the fridge and grab an ice pack! Cold therapy is like a mute button for the skin nerves. Trust me, it works instantly and saves you from scratching.

Actually, scratching just makes the patch grow bigger and worse yaar. I just apply ice cubes wrapped in a clean cotton handkerchief on the itchy spot immediately. It gives instant relief and stops the redness too.

Honestly, scratch-free relief only happens when you numb the nerves. Apply a heavy, fragrance-free moisturizer or an OTC hydrocortisone cream if your dermatologist has allowed it. Don't use regular scented body lotions as they burn.

I totally get it, that sudden intense itch can feel absolutely unbearable and frustrating. Try putting a cold, wet cloth on the area right now to calm the inflammation immediately. It helps stop the urge to scratch.
