I totally get it, the constant itching can drive you absolutely crazy and make you feel so restless. Try applying cold, damp compresses to the itchy spots to numb the sensation temporarily. It really helps calm the skin down.
Itching like crazy while trying to look normal in public is a different level of talent! Keeping a bottle of virgin coconut oil or a cool gel moisturizer in the fridge is my secret weapon. Cold oil stops the fire instantly.
I had a terrible flare-up last month and couldn't sleep. My dermatologist prescribed a coal tar ointment and a mild steroid lotion which stopped the itching within three days. Don't suffer, just get the right medical ointment.
Taking short, lukewarm baths instead of hot showers made a huge difference for my skin! Hot water just strips away all the moisture. Remember to pat dry gently and apply moisturizer immediately while your skin is still damp.
The itch is truly unbearable, I understand. Keeping my skin thick with heavy, fragrance-free moisturizers is the only thing that gives constant relief.
