Using a simple sitz bath with warm water before going to bed really helps soothe the area. Track your daily fiber and water intake on an app to make sure your stool is soft, which is the ultimate way to prevent irritation.

Please don't keep ignoring this or trying to manage with just creams like I did. It got so bad for me that I had to undergo surgery later. Go see a general surgeon immediately and get a proper prescription.

A basic tub for a warm water sitz bath costs less than 200 rupees and provides the best relief at night. Don't waste money on fancy luxury creams; just ask a local government hospital doctor for a budget-friendly soothing gel.

Constipation can worsen piles, and thyroid issues often cause chronic constipation. Please get a thyroid profile test done along with your regular checkups, and consult a doctor for a safe soothing ointment for night use.

I panicked so much when the itching started keeping me awake at night, thinking it was a major infection. But my doctor assured me it's just due to localized inflammation. Applying simple coconut oil or prescribed soothing gel before sleeping worked perfectly.

I had to completely cut out my favorite spicy shezwan noodles and green chillies at night because they literally made the itching ten times worse. Stick to light, fiber-rich food like papaya and curd for dinner to keep your stomach happy.

Don't scratch the area at all as it can cause small cuts and make the itching worse. Try wearing loose cotton nightwear to keep things airy and comfortable. Sit in warm water for 10 minutes before bed; it will really help you sleep peacefully.

Avoid using scented soaps or dry toilet paper as they irritate the delicate skin even more. Just pat the area dry gently after washing and apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or your prescribed ointment before sleeping.

My son had this problem due to chronic constipation from eating outside food. I started giving him isabgol with warm water at night, and it really helped soften things, which stopped the night irritation. Please make sure they drink lots of water.

Itching at midnight is the worst kind of test of patience! Just keep a tub of warm water handy, sit in it, and think about your life choices. Seriously though, loose cotton boxers are your best friend right now.
