How to stop bruxism in sleep?

My wife complains that I grind my teeth heavily in my sleep, and sometimes I wake up with jaw pain. I think it's bruxism. What can I do to stop this from happening?

Bruxism sounds really uncomfortable! While I don't have personal experience with it, I'd say stress management might help. And definitely consult a dentist; they usually recommend a night guard. It's always best to get professional advice for these things.

Often, teeth grinding can be stress-related. I find that a good workout before dinner, not too close to bedtime, helps me relax completely. Also, watch your caffeine intake, especially in the evening. It can make you tense.

Night guards from a dentist are the most common and effective solution for bruxism. They protect your teeth from damage. Also, managing stress through meditation or gentle activities before sleep can make a difference.

My dentist told me that bruxism is often linked to stress and anxiety. He suggested mindfulness exercises and avoiding caffeine and alcohol before bed. He also fitted me for a custom night guard, which has really reduced jaw pain and protected my teeth. It's been a game changer.

Don't fall for random online tips for bruxism, please. This is a condition that needs proper dental assessment. A professional can determine the cause and provide the right solution, usually a night guard, which you can't DIY.
