How to stop biting tongue in sleep?

My husband often bites his tongue in his sleep, and he wakes up with a sore tongue or sometimes even a cut. It seems quite painful. Is there anything that can be done to stop him from biting his tongue while sleeping?

Oh my god, I used to do this so much! Waking up with a sore, bitten tongue is just the worst feeling. For me, it was mostly stress. Try to relax before bed, maybe some light stretching or reading. If it's very frequent, a dentist might suggest a night guard, which really helps.

That sounds painful to wake up to. Sometimes stress can cause these things. Hope you find a solution.

When we were younger, sometimes this would happen if we were very tired or had eaten something heavy. It used to be temporary. But if it is happening often and causing pain, then it is good to show it to a doctor, maybe a dentist, beta. Modern doctors have solutions for these things.

Biting tongue in sleep can be quite painful, no? My mother always said it happens when you're very tired or stressed. She'd suggest a warm milk before bed. But if it's happening frequently or causing cuts, it's best to consult a dentist. They can check if a night guard is needed.

I literally just stopped doing this a few months back! For me, it was related to clenching my jaw really hard in my sleep due to stress. My dentist suggested a simple mouth guard which helped a lot. Also, I tried doing some meditation before bed to relax. It definitely improved after that.

I used to bite my tongue often in my sleep, especially during stressful periods. What helped me was seeing a dentist who confirmed it wasn't due to jaw alignment. They suggested a custom night guard. Also, consciously relaxing my jaw before sleep made a difference. Manage your stress too!

Oh my gosh, I would be so worried if I kept biting my tongue! Like, is it a seizure? Or grinding my teeth too much? I'd probably rush to Google. But seriously, it's probably best to see a dentist first; they can tell you if it's stress-related or a dental alignment issue. Don't worry too much though, just get it checked!
