How to stop acid reflux vomiting?

My husband has been having terrible acid reflux lately, and sometimes it's so severe that he ends up vomiting. It's really worrying me, especially at night. How can we stop this kind of vomiting?

With my PCOS, my digestion gets thrown off very easily, leading to severe acid reflux and nausea. I find that drinking small sips of ginger water or clear liquids helps soothe the stomach when you feel like throwing up. However, please be cautious and consult your doctor if this happens regularly, as severe vomiting needs proper medical advice.

Vomiting from acidity is the absolute worst, yaar. Actually, when my stomach feels that acidic, I avoid drinking a lot of water at once because it makes me throw up more. Just take tiny sips of cold water or suck on a piece of ice to calm your food pipe.

I know how terrifying it is to vomit acid, it used to make me panic and worry that something was seriously wrong with my stomach. Please take a deep breath, as panic only makes your stomach produce more acid. Try to rest with your head propped up and let your stomach settle gradually.

When you are vomiting due to acid reflux, your esophagus gets highly irritated, so you must treat it gently. Avoid self-medicating with strong painkillers, as they will only worsen the acid. Try having an antacid gel after consulting your pharmacist, and focus on bland foods like bananas and toast.

I used to throw up acid after heavy weekend parties or eating too much spicy junk food. What helped me was stopping all oily food completely for a few days and having simple curd rice or khichdi. Also, don't sleep immediately after eating, give it at least two hours.

I totally get it, that burning feeling and vomiting can leave you completely drained and miserable. Please rest your stomach for a few hours and don't force yourself to eat heavy meals. Sip on some plain coconut water to recover your lost fluids and stay hydrated.
