How to stop a silent migraine?

My wife sometimes gets these really weird headaches where she sees flashing lights or feels dizzy, but there's no actual pain sometimes. It's called a 'silent migraine', and it's quite disorienting. How can one stop a silent migraine?

Silent migraines are so weird, yaar. You don't get the actual headache, but you feel completely dizzy and sensitive to light. Actually, just sitting in a dark, quiet room and sipping some cold water is the best way to handle it when it hits you suddenly.

I face this quite often and completely agree that staying away from screens is very helpful. Resting in a dark room for an hour usually resolves the visual aura for me.

I have tried everything from herbal teas to essential oils for my silent migraines. In my experience, applying a cool gel pack to the back of the neck and doing deep, slow breathing helps relax the nervous system. It is also very important to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Whenever my daughter gets these dizzy spells without pain, we make her lie down comfortably under a fan and give her fresh coconut water. We also make sure she does not skip her meals. Simple rest and timely food really help the body heal from this.

I get so anxious when my vision gets blurry during a silent migraine, as I always worry it is something much worse. If you are also feeling scared, please know that you are not alone and this is a known type of migraine. It helps to keep a diary of what you ate before it started so you can find your triggers.

Listen, stop staring at your mobile screen immediately when you feel that weird aura or dizziness. Go lie down, close your eyes, and drink some water. If this is happening regularly, do not assume things, just go to a neurologist and get it checked properly.

I know how unsettling it is to feel dizzy and see weird patterns without any actual headache, it used to make me panic so much. Recognizing that this is just a silent migraine and that the symptoms will pass in a short while helped me manage the fear. Resting in a dark room really makes a huge difference.
