How to stop a fever blister from growing?

I've had a fever blister appear, and it's starting to get bigger. It's so painful and visible. What are some effective ways to stop a fever blister from growing once it has started?

Okay, the key is to act IMMEDIATELY when you feel that tingle. I always keep an antiviral cream (like Acyclovir) or a cold sore patch at home. Apply it at the very first sign. It really helps to either stop it or at least make it much smaller and heal faster. Don't wait!

Beta, these things come when body is weak. If you feel it, put little bit of ice on it, wrapped in kapda. And try to rest more. Simple home remedies sometimes help, but if it gets big, then doctor is best.

For something that's already growing, don't waste time with unverified internet remedies. You need proper antiviral treatment. Go to a pharmacist and ask for a good cold sore cream, or better yet, see a doctor. This isn't a DIY situation if it's progressing.

If you're getting them frequently or they're growing very large and painful, it's best to consult a doctor. There might be stronger prescription options or underlying reasons. Don't let it get worse before seeking professional help.

Oh, I totally get it, that feeling when you know one is coming and you just want to stop it! For me, applying an ice pack for a few minutes on and off helped reduce the swelling initially. Also, avoiding spicy or very hot foods seems to prevent further irritation.

The magic trick is to attack it early! 🧚‍♀️ When you feel that first itch or tiny bump, apply an antiviral cream or a special cold sore patch. It really helps shrink it down or prevent it from getting worse! 😊

While it's growing, topical treatments are best. For prevention, some suggest managing your lysine/arginine intake, but that's a long-term dietary approach. Focus on keeping your immune system strong with a balanced vegetarian diet and plenty of hydration.

My son used to get these often. We learned to keep his lips moisturized and apply a specific antiviral gel the moment he felt even a slight tingle. It helps a lot to keep it from getting bigger. Also, make sure they don't touch it too much and wash hands well.

When a blister appears, focus on calming the area. Gently apply some aloe vera or pure coconut oil to soothe it. Stress can exacerbate these, so deep breathing and mindfulness can also support the healing process. Let nature do its work.

Dude, I get these sometimes when I'm super stressed with exams. The only thing that actually works for me is getting those cold sore patches. Stick one on as soon as you feel it, and it keeps it from blowing up. Otherwise, it just gets bigger.
