How to speed up passing a kidney stone?

My father had a kidney stone last year and it was very painful for him. Now I've been diagnosed with one, and the doctor said it's small, but I want to get rid of this pain as soon as possible. Any tips on how to speed up passing it?

Keep yourself heavily hydrated, at least 3-4 liters of water a day. Avoid high-sodium foods and processed stuff for now so you don't retain water or worsen the stone formation. Let your body rest, don't do heavy lifting while you are trying to pass it.

Passing a kidney stone is actually pure torture, yaar. I just kept drinking warm water and walking around slowly to help it move. But seriously, go get an ultrasound done first to see if the size is small enough to pass on its own.

When trying to flush a stone, stick to plain water and avoid sweet juices or packaged coconut water which can spike your blood sugar. Proper hydration is critical, but keep your diabetic diet in mind. Always consult your doctor to ensure your overall health is stable.

My roommate had this last semester and he was literally chugging water like crazy all day. Barley water also helped him pass it. Just stay near a washroom and get a doctor's checkup so you don't end up in the ER during exams.

While drinking plenty of fluids is standard advice, trying to force a large kidney stone to pass naturally can cause severe damage or blockage. Please consult a urologist first. They can perform a quick scan and advise if you need medication to relax the ureter or other medical intervention.

I completely understand the anxiety and pain, it literally made me feel so helpless and scared to even go to the bathroom. Just take it one day at a time, keep sipping water, and stay close to your doctor. You will get through this tough phase.
