Dude, the pain after getting braces tightened is too real, I literally live on ice cream for two days. Just drink cold water and use dental wax if the brackets are poking your inner cheeks. It gets way better after day 3, hang in there!

Braces are already a big financial investment, so you don't want to break brackets and pay extra repair fees. Stick to very soft foods like dahi, khichdi, or soups during the first few days of tightening. Cold water rinses cost nothing and help reduce the initial soreness quite well.

My orthodontist explained that the pain is just the inflammatory response to the teeth moving. They advised rinsing with warm salt water to soothe the gums and using orthopedic wax on sharp brackets. If the pain is too severe to sleep, definitely call your doctor to see if they can recommend a mild painkiller.

I feel you, braces pain is seriously annoying. Just stick to soft foods and give it a few days to adjust.

The pressure from braces can be very uncomfortable in the beginning. Eating cool foods like yogurt or smoothies can help soothe the soreness. Hope the pain settles down for you very soon.
