How to soothe eczema on face?

I have eczema, and right now, it's really bad on my face. It's red and feels so rough, making me self-conscious. Are there any gentle ways to soothe eczema specifically on the face without irritating it further?

In our family, we are often told to use pure sandalwood paste to cool skin irritation, but for delicate facial eczema, I wouldn't risk it. It is always wiser to consult a proper skin specialist. They usually recommend extremely gentle, soap-free cleansers and specific mild creams meant only for facial skin.

I have these dry, red itchy patches around my eyes and cheeks and it makes me feel so self-conscious. Did anyone else also feel like their skin was burning when applying even normal face moisturizers? I am really scared to try anything new on my face right now.

Because the skin on your face is incredibly thin and sensitive, you should never self-medicate with over-the-counter steroid creams. Using the wrong cream on the face can lead to irreversible skin thinning or pigment issues. Please get it checked by a certified dermatologist for a safe treatment plan.

Sometimes what we eat shows directly on our face, so I try to avoid highly acidic or spicy foods during a flare-up. Increasing my intake of water and eating cooling foods like cucumbers and fresh fruits helps calm my skin from within. Just make sure you consult a doctor before making major diet changes.

Omg, having facial eczema during college presentations is my absolute nightmare. I literally stopped using all active serums and makeup, and just stuck to a basic dermat-recommended barrier cream. It keeps the dryness away and doesn't irritate the skin at all.
