How to soothe eczema itch?

My son's eczema is flaring up, and he's scratching a lot, especially at night. It's so hard to see him like this. What are some good ways to soothe the itch so he can get some relief?

For mild itching, applying pure cold-pressed coconut oil or a cold gel pack can soothe the skin nicely. But if the itching is so bad that you are bleeding or can't sleep at night, please don't just rely on home remedies. You definitely need a doctor to evaluate it and give you proper medical creams.

I totally get it, that eczema itch can literally drive you crazy and make you feel so restless. Try wrapping an ice pack in a soft towel and holding it against the itchy spots to numb the sensation. It is a quick way to get some sanity back without damaging your skin barrier.

My grandmother always tells us to use virgin coconut oil to calm any dry skin issues, which is indeed very soothing. However, for active eczema itching, we always visit our family dermatologist. Using the doctor's prescribed steroid-free ointments along with keeping the skin hydrated works the best.

I always go to a top-tier hospital dermat department because they have the best specialists for skin barrier issues. My advice is to ask your doctor clearly about what triggers the itch and get a proper prescription for an oral antihistamine if needed. Trying random things on inflamed skin never ends well.

Eczema ki itching sach mein pagal kar deti hai na! Aap bilkul scratch mat karna, skin damage ho jayegi. Haan, cold compress lagane se thodi der ke liye sukoon zaroor mil jata hai. Ek baar dermatologist ko dikha kar achha sa moisturizer aur ointment likhwa lo, thik ho jayega.
