Sometimes when the chest burning gets really intense, I start panicking thinking it is a heart issue, which honestly makes the acid reflux even worse. If you are also feeling anxious, try drinking some cold milk and sitting upright. Let's stay calm, but definitely get a doctor to check it if it happens daily.

Managing acid reflux can be tricky when you have diabetes, as you cannot just gulp down sugary fruit juices or heavy sweet cold milk. I find that drinking a glass of plain buttermilk with a bit of roasted cumin powder works beautifully without spiking my blood sugar levels.

I used my health tracker to log my meals and realized my acidity peaks when I eat within two hours of sleeping. Try using an app to monitor your food timings and make sure you stay upright for at least 3 hours post-dinner. It really helps prevent acid from travelling up.

Instead of buying expensive antacids every month, try simple lifestyle changes like elevating your head with a double pillow at night. If you must see a doctor, ask them to suggest generic medicines which are much cheaper. Planning your meals properly at home will save you a lot of medical bills.

I have tried everything from baking soda to ginger water over the years. What actually worked consistently was drinking lukewarm water first thing in the morning and eating smaller, more frequent meals. It is much better than trying complex remedies that might irritate your stomach further.

Beta, just chew on a little piece of fennel seeds (saunf) after your meals. It keeps the stomach cool and digests the food very nicely. Keep your food simple and don't eat too much spicy food late at night.

Ah, the joys of turning fifty, where even looking at a spicy samosa gives you severe heartburn. I now treat dinner like a sacred ritual that must be completed by 7:30 PM, or else I pay the price all night. Keep it light and early, my friends, our stomachs are no longer twenty.
