How to slow down cavities?

I've always been prone to cavities, and my dentist keeps telling me to take better care. Besides brushing, what are some additional tips or habits to slow down cavities and keep my teeth strong?

If you already have a cavity, it cannot be reversed at home and needs a dentist's attention. Please get a proper dental checkup done to see if you need a filling. Waiting too long might lead to a painful root canal later.

Just like keeping my blood pressure under control, dental hygiene requires a strict daily routine. I make sure to gargle after every single meal and visit my dentist every six months. Simple lifestyle habits like cutting down on sugary tea help a lot.

I tried oil pulling with coconut oil for months, and while it kept my mouth fresh, it didn't cure existing decay. The most practical thing is to brush twice a day and use a good fluoride toothpaste. Home remedies only help with hygiene, not fixing cavities.

I totally get it, dental pain and the fear of cavities can be so stressful. Try to start flossing at night before sleeping because food stuck between teeth is the main culprit. It makes a huge difference in preventing new spots.

I actually set a reminder on my smartwatch to brush before bed because it is so easy to skip when tired. Tracking my sugar intake on my fitness app also helped reduce the sweet foods that cause plaque. Staying disciplined is key.

Bro, honestly, just stop having late-night sweet cravings and sleeping without brushing. I learned it the hard way after getting two fillings last semester. Now I keep a mouthwash in my hostel room and use it daily.
