How to sleep with your mouth closed naturally?

My husband complains that I sleep with my mouth open and snore a lot. I also wake up with a very dry mouth. How can I train myself to sleep with my mouth closed naturally?

Waking up with a dry mouth and a sore throat is my daily story. I tried sleeping on my side instead of flat on my back, and it actually keeps my jaw from dropping open. Plus, my family is happy because my snoring has reduced!

Mouth breathing usually happens because of a blocked nose. Try using a saline nasal spray or doing a steam inhalation session before sleeping to clear your nasal passages. Sleeping with your head elevated also helps a lot.

Please get your nasal passage checked by an ENT. I ignored my mouth breathing for years thinking it was a simple habit, but it was actually a deviated septum that needed proper treatment. Don't delay getting a checkup.

My mouth breathing turned out to be severe sleep apnea, which caused my blood pressure to shoot up. Please do not try random tricks like taping your mouth without consulting a doctor first. Get a proper sleep study done for safety.

A lot of people use medical mouth tape, but please be careful and make sure your nose is completely clear first. Try using nasal dilator strips on the bridge of your nose before bed. They physically open up your nasal passages so you can breathe easily through your nose.

I used to mouth-breathe a lot and wake up feeling exhausted. I started doing regular nasal breathing exercises during my evening gym sessions, and I consciously keep my mouth shut during the day. It slowly became natural for me at night too.
