How to sleep with vertigo?
I've been having terrible vertigo episodes, and lying down often makes it worse. It's really hard to fall asleep when the room is spinning. Are there specific positions or techniques to sleep with vertigo?

I totally get it, that spinning feeling when you close your eyes is absolutely terrifying. Try keeping your head elevated with two or three pillows so you aren't lying flat. It really helps stop the room from spinning when you try to sleep.
I have dealt with vertigo for years and you do learn to manage it, so don't lose heart. Always sleep on your back with your head propped up high, and when you wake up, sit on the edge of the bed for two minutes before standing up. It keeps the dizziness away.
Please make sure you get this diagnosed by an ENT specialist to find out if it is BPPV or something else. For sleeping, keep your head elevated and try not to turn onto the side that triggers the dizziness. Safety first, so don't delay getting a doctor's opinion.
Honestly, sleeping flat is the worst thing you can do during a vertigo attack. I use a wedge pillow to stay at a 45-degree angle, and I keep a dim nightlight on in my room. If I wake up dizzy in the dark, having a little light helps my brain reorient quickly.
