How to sleep with uti discomfort?

This UTI discomfort is really keeping me up at night, especially the constant urge to pee. It's so annoying. How can I get some sleep when I have a UTI?

I am dealing with this for the first time and it is so uncomfortable to lie down. Does sleeping on the left side actually help more than the right side? I would love to know if any specific position helps reduce that constant urge to pee.

I know how miserable this feels. Drink a large glass of water an hour before bed and make sure to empty your bladder right before you sleep. Lie on your side and tuck a warm heating pad or hot water bag between your thighs or on your lower stomach to soothe the burning sensation.

Sleeping with a UTI is basically a game of running to the washroom every twenty minutes. I found that sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees relieves some of that bladder pressure. Keep a hot water bottle on your lower abdomen, it is the only thing that keeps me sane!

I totally get it, that burning pelvic pressure makes sleep absolutely impossible. Try wearing very loose cotton pajamas and no tight underwear to let your skin breathe. It helps reduce the irritation so you can drift off more easily.

A UTI can really disturb your rest, which is bad for your blood pressure too. I always tell people to get a proper urine test done instead of waiting it out. In the meantime, sleep on your side with your knees bent to take the pressure off your lower abdomen.

When my partner had a UTI, she found that staying hydrated during the day but cutting off water an hour before bed helped reduce nighttime bathroom trips. Keep your diet clean and cut out spicy food or caffeine, as they irritate the bladder wall and make sleeping much harder.

Don't worry, daughter, this discomfort will pass once the medicine starts working. Just wear a loose nightgown, keep your lower back warm with a heavy blanket, and try to sleep on your side. Make sure you see a doctor for the proper antibiotics.

Avoid drinking any tea, coffee, or citrus juices in the evening because they aggravate bladder irritation and keep you awake. Stick to plain water during the day, and sleep with a soft pillow under your pelvis to find a comfortable angle.
