How to sleep with shoulder pain?

My shoulder has been aching a lot lately, probably from lifting my baby all day. It's making it so hard to fall asleep at night. Any tips for sleeping comfortably with shoulder pain?

Shoulder pain is so annoying because I can't even sit up comfortably to enjoy my midnight Maggi! I found that sleeping on the opposite side with a giant pillow to hug keeps my bad shoulder from aching, so I can at least sleep peacefully after eating.

Beta, when your shoulder hurts, do not sleep under a direct AC vent as cold air freezes the muscles. You can gently apply some warm mustard oil with garlic before bed, and sleep on your back with a soft cotton towel rolled up under your shoulder blade for gentle support.

Hey, don't stress too much about it, buddy! Just grab a couple of pillows, sleep on your good side, and rest your bad arm on the pillows like you are hugging them. It takes the weight off the joint and you will sleep like a baby, trust me.

I have had shoulder pain off and on for twenty years, and I can tell you that it gets much better once you stop sleeping on it. Train yourself to sleep on your back by putting pillows on both your sides. It takes a few days to get used to, but it saves your shoulder from further wear and tear.

Welcome to your 50s, where sleeping in the wrong direction for two minutes breaks your shoulder! I have practically turned my bed into a pillow showroom just to keep my arms propped up. Try sleeping slightly upright, it is the only way to avoid waking up like a statue.

Gently stretching the shoulders with some simple neck rolls and a chest opener before bed can release built-up tension. When you lie down, sleep on your back and place a small, thin cushion under your elbow to keep the shoulder joint relaxed and in line with your spine.
