How to sleep with post nasal drip?

My post nasal drip is worst at night, causing coughing fits and a really sore throat. I just can't sleep with all that gunk. What's the best way to sleep to reduce this problem?

Instead of buying expensive nasal sprays or air purifiers, I just steam my face before bed using a simple bowl of hot water. Sleeping with two regular pillows to prop my head up prevents the mucus from pooling in my throat, costing me absolutely nothing.

Keep your surroundings clean and stay calm, this irritation is temporary. Try doing some gentle breathing exercises before bed and sleep with your head slightly raised to keep your breathing passage clear. Take care.

Gargling with warm saline water before sleep helps clear the throat lining. However, if your post nasal drip is accompanied by a persistent fever or green mucus, please see a doctor as it could be a sinus infection.

I have been waking up with a sore throat every night because of this dripping feeling. Is it better to sleep on my side, or does sleeping on my back with high pillows work best to stop the coughing?
