How to sleep with plantar fasciitis?

My plantar fasciitis acts up terribly at night, making my heels hurt when I get out of bed. It’s hard to find a comfortable position that doesn't put pressure on my feet. Any suggestions on how to sleep?

Try wearing a soft night splint! It keeps your foot stretched while you sleep so you don't get that horrible sharp pain first thing when you step out of bed in the morning.

I was just told I have plantar fasciitis because of my heel pain. Is it better to sleep with a pillow under my feet, or does keeping the feet flat help more?

Personally, doing a few simple calf stretches against the wall before lying down and sleeping with a loose blanket so my toes weren't pointed downwards made a massive difference for my morning heel stiffness.

I ignored my heel pain for months thinking it would go away, and now I can barely walk in the mornings. Please see a physiotherapist early and get proper orthotic slippers instead of waiting like I did.

Instead of buying expensive nighttime boots, I just used an old crepe bandage to lightly wrap my foot in a flexed position before sleeping. It is a very cheap way to keep the fascia stretched and save on heavy medical costs.
