How to sleep with mouth closed without tape?

My wife keeps telling me I snore very loudly and she says I sleep with my mouth open. I tried that tape thing but it was so uncomfortable! Is there any other way to keep my mouth closed at night?

I completely stopped my mouth breathing without any tape by simply switching to side sleeping. I also elevated my head slightly with a firm pillow, which keeps the jaw from falling backward. It takes a couple of weeks to build the muscle memory but it works.

Mouth breathing can cause dry gums and increase the risk of oral infections, which is a concern for diabetics. Try using a saline nasal spray before bed to keep your nasal passages clear of blockages so you can breathe easily through your nose.

I realized my mouth breathing was worse on days I stuffed myself with spicy late-night biryani, probably because of acid reflux blocking my throat. Eating a lighter dinner at least three hours before bed made a massive difference to my breathing.

Inhaling steam with a drop of eucalyptus oil before bed is a great natural way to clear nasal congestion. However, if you constantly have to breathe through your mouth, please consult an ENT specialist to check for a deviated septum or allergies.

I used to wake up with a dry throat every night until I started using an extra pillow to keep my neck and head aligned. I am no expert, but this simple change in my posture naturally helped me keep my mouth closed during sleep.
