How to sleep with hip bursitis?

My hip bursitis acts up every night, especially when I try to sleep on my side. The pain is really disruptive. Are there any specific sleeping positions or pillow tricks that can help with this?

Does anyone else find that sleeping on either side makes their hip burn with pain? It makes me so anxious because I can't sleep on my back at all. Is back sleeping the only safe option for hip bursitis?

I can only share what worked for me during my hip bursitis flare-up. I slept on my side that did not hurt, and placed a thick, supportive pillow between my knees to keep my hips aligned. It really helped reduce the pressure on my painful hip joint.

I tried to push through hip bursitis pain and ended up with severe lower back spasms because of bad sleeping postures. Please don't ignore it if the pain is constant. See an orthopedic specialist to get it diagnosed and treated properly.

Joint and tendon inflammation can sometimes be worse if you have underlying issues like thyroid imbalances. While you should sleep on your non-painful side with a pillow between your knees, make sure you keep up with your regular medical checkups.

I completely understand how frustrating and painful this is, especially when it disrupts your sleep every single night. When I had this, sleeping on my back with a pillow under my knees was the only way I felt safe from the sharp pain. Take it easy and don't stress.

Beta, with joint pain, you must make sure your bed is not too soft or saggy. Sleep on your back and try using a warm compress on the hip before sleeping if it feels stiff. Take care of your health and don't strain the hip.

Using a cold gel pack on the painful hip for fifteen minutes before bed can help reduce the inflammation. For sleeping, back sleeping with a pillow under your knees is best. But if the pain doesn't go away, please consult a doctor.

Sleeping on your back or on the non-painful side with a supportive pillow between your knees should help relieve the pressure. Wishing you a peaceful, pain-free sleep tonight.
