How to sleep with herniated c6-c7?

My doctor told me I have a herniated disc at C6-C7, and the neck and arm pain is making it impossible to sleep. I keep tossing and turning all night. What's the best way to sleep with this condition?

Haan na, neck pain from C6-C7 is so bad, it goes all the way down the arm. Try using a thin, contoured cervical pillow that supports your neck curve, ho na. Lying on your back is usually the most comfortable.

I am not an expert, but when I had neck issues, sleeping on my side with a pillow of the right height helped keep my spine aligned. Make sure the pillow isn't too high or too flat. Please check with your physiotherapist for the safest posture for your specific case.

Sleeping with a C6-C7 hernia means spending half the night adjusting five different pillows and still waking up looking like a zombie. Honestly, a proper cervical pillow is the only thing that keeps my neck from screaming. Don't even think about sleeping on your stomach!

I was just diagnosed with a C6-C7 slip disc and I am so scared of sleeping wrong. Should I completely stop sleeping on my side, or is side sleeping okay if I use a specific pillow? Any advice would be really comforting.

I can only share what worked for me during my C6-C7 recovery. I found that sleeping on my back with a rolled-up towel under my neck for support gave me the best relief. Everyone's spine is different, so see what feels least painful for you.

Ah, the joys of turning 50 where your neck decides to go on strike! My C6-C7 disc loves to remind me of my age every night. I find that sleeping like a log on my back with a special neck pillow is the only way I don't wake up groaning.

Along with managing your sleep posture, diabetic patients need to be careful about nerve pain as high blood sugar can worsen neuropathy. Keep your neck straight using a supportive pillow, and make sure you keep your sugar levels under control to help nerve healing.

It is completely normal to feel terrified and anxious when you feel shooting nerve pain down your arm at night. I used to stay awake worrying about permanent damage. Try sleeping on your back with your arms supported on pillows to take pressure off the neck, it really helps ease the mind.
