How to sleep with heartburn and acid reflux?

Since last few months, every night after dinner, I get such bad heartburn and acid reflux. It's really tough to fall asleep properly. Is there any way to sleep comfortably without this burning feeling?

Managing diabetes means I have to eat small, frequent meals, which actually helps with acid reflux too. For sleep, I make sure my head is elevated and I avoid any high-fat or sugary snacks late in the evening. Keep your dinner balanced and light.

I used to just ignore my nighttime reflux until it caused severe throat irritation and breathing issues. Please don't rely only on sleep positions like left-side sleeping or high pillows. Go to a gastroenterologist to get proper treatment before it leads to complications.

Beta, try chewing a little fennel seeds (saunf) after dinner, it helps calm the stomach. When you sleep, keep your head elevated and try not to drink too much water right before lying down. This has helped our family for generations.

Sleeping on your left side with your head slightly raised can really help soothe the burning sensation. I hope you get some quiet rest tonight.

It is so exhausting when you are tired but too scared to sleep because of the burning throat pain. I totally understand how frustrating this is. Using a wedge pillow was the only thing that gave me my sleep and peace of mind back.

I just got over a bad phase of acid reflux. What worked wonders for me was raising the head of my bed by 6 inches and strictly avoiding tea after 5 PM. It takes a few days, but your throat will finally get time to heal.

For acid reflux, a wedge pillow is much better than stacking regular pillows because it doesn't bend your neck or put pressure on your stomach. Also, try wearing very loose clothes around your waist to sleep to prevent extra pressure.

My grandmother used to recommend cold milk for acidity, but my doctor advised me that left-side sleeping and a light, early dinner work best for GERD. It is always wise to follow clinical advice for long-term relief.

This is the classic punishment for my late-night cheese burst pizza cravings! Left-side sleeping is the only way to survive the night without feeling like a dragon. Also, try to give at least three hours between eating and sleeping.
