How to sleep with gerd?

My GERD has been acting up a lot lately, and lying down at night makes the acid reflux much worse. I wake up with a burning sensation in my chest and throat. How can I sleep more comfortably with GERD?

Honestly, sleeping with GERD means dinner at 6 PM and sleeping like a mummy at a 45-degree angle. If I dare to lie flat, acid climbs up my throat to remind me of all my life choices. Elevating the head of the bed is the only way I get any sleep these days.

Haan na, this acid reflux is so annoying at night. Sleeping on the left side actually helps a lot because of the stomach shape, science says so. Try that and don't drink too much water just before going to bed, ho na.

Does anyone else get a burning feeling in their throat the moment they try to sleep? It makes me so anxious that I can't fall asleep for hours. I try sleeping on my left side with two pillows but I still worry it will damage my throat.

Agree with others here. Keeping your head elevated by raising the actual bed frame slightly works much better than just stacking pillows.

I used to wake up choking and thought something was seriously wrong with my heart, it was so scary! But my doc explained it is just GERD. Now I use a wedge pillow and eat a light dinner, and I sleep perfectly fine. Don't worry, it is very manageable.

Beta, khaana khaane ke turant baad mat soya karo, kam se kam do ghante baad letna. Aur sote samay apne sar ke neeche thoda uncha takiya rakhna. Isse gale mein jalan nahi hogi aur aaram se neend aayegi.
