How to sleep with clogged nose?

My nose is completely clogged, and I can't breathe properly, especially when I lie down. I keep waking up gasping for air. What's the best way to sleep when you have a blocked nose?

I struggle with sinus congestion quite often. Sleeping with my head elevated on a couple of pillows really helps drain the nasal passages so I can breathe, but please consult your doctor for safe nasal sprays.

Honestly, a clogged nose is my ultimate villain because I end up breathing through my mouth and waking up every hour with a dry throat. Taking a hot steam inhalation before bed is the only way I get any sleep.

Please don't feel restless; a blocked nose is temporary. Try doing a very gentle pranayama (breathing exercise) before sleeping, and sleep on your side to keep one nasal passage open and relaxed.

When my kids get a clogged nose, I always apply some vapor rub on their chest and feet, and put a humidifier in the room. Elevating their head slightly with an extra pillow also helps them sleep peacefully all night.

I don't have time to lose sleep over a stuffed nose before a busy workday. I just use a saline nasal spray right before hitting the bed and sleep slightly propped up. Quick, effective, and works every time.
