How to sleep with bruised ribs?

Got into a little bike accident last week and the doctor said I have bruised ribs. The pain is okay during the day, but sleeping is a nightmare! Har position mein dard hota hai. Does anyone have tips on how to sleep comfortably with this kind of injury?

I know exactly how terrifying it is to close your eyes and feel like you can't breathe without a sharp pain. The anxiety makes it so much worse, but sleeping semi-upright on some large pillows will make you feel much safer.

When I bruised my ribs, I couldn't afford to lose sleep before office. I just slept in a reclined chair with a small cushion supporting my injured side, which kept me stable enough to get 6 hours of sleep.

Haan na, even breathing gently hurts so much when ribs are bruised. I used to sleep on my back with a pillow under my knees, it really reduces the pull on your chest muscles, ho na.

I just recovered from bruised ribs last week! Seriously, sleeping in a reclined position was my lifesaver for the first ten days. Once the pain reduced, I could slowly transition back to side sleeping.

Aap chinta mat kariye, sleep on a comfortable cot with many soft pillows behind your back. Keeping your chest slightly raised will give you a very peaceful sleep without any sharp pain.

I had a nasty fall last winter and bruised my ribs badly. I found that hugging a soft, medium-sized pillow gently against my chest really helped stabilize the area and made it less painful to breathe while sleeping.

When I injured my chest, the orthopedist at Medanta told me that sleeping on the uninjured side with proper pillows was safe. You should ask your doctor clearly about what is best for your specific injury.

I totally get it, trying to find a comfortable position when your ribs are so sore is incredibly frustrating. Try using a wedge pillow to stay slightly upright, it really helps take the weight off your chest.

Please don't try wrapping your chest tightly with bandages or belts as recommended by some random online articles; it can restrict breathing and cause lung issues. Just sleep propped up and check with your doctor.

Since I have high blood pressure, sleep disruption from pain is bad for my health. I make sure to sleep propped up and take my prescribed pain management seriously to keep my stress levels low.

Agree with the back sleeping advice; putting a pillow under your knees also stops you from tossing and turning during the night.

Don't bother trying to sleep flat on your stomach or side. Just prop up some firm pillows, sit back at a 45-degree angle, and sleep on your back. It is the only position that actually works.

I am always cautious about chest pains. Keeping yourself propped up is generally safe, but please ensure you avoid any posture that makes you feel dizzy or breathless, and keep your doctor updated.

Actually yaar, rib pain is the worst because you can't even laugh. I tried sleeping on my side but it was a nightmare, so I just slept on my back with pillows tucked under both arms so I wouldn't roll over.

Take deep, gentle breaths and try to keep your mind relaxed. Sleep on your back with proper cushion support, and let your body recover slowly with time. God bless you.
