How to sleep with anterior pelvic tilt?

I have anterior pelvic tilt and it often causes lower back discomfort, especially when I try to sleep on my back. I've heard certain positions can help. How do you sleep with anterior pelvic tilt to minimize discomfort?

I have anterior pelvic tilt which makes my lower back arch too much and hurt when I sleep. I find that sleeping on my back with a pillow under my knees helps flatten the spine, but please consult a physical therapist to see what works for your body.

My son had this issue due to sitting for long study hours, and sleeping flat on his back was very uncomfortable. We got him a memory foam leg pillow to put under his knees, which tilts the pelvis back into a comfortable, neutral position for sleep.

Honestly, after eating a heavy butter chicken dinner, lying flat with my pelvic tilt is so uncomfortable. Putting a pillow under my knees helps flatten my back on the bed so I can digest my food and sleep peacefully without that lower back pull.

I used to wake up with a stiff lower back every single morning due to my pelvic tilt. Shifting to a firm orthopedic mattress and sleeping with a thin pillow under my lower back and a thick one under my knees completely solved the issue for me.

I know how stressful it is when your lower back feels so tense and hollow while trying to lie down flat. It is a very common structural posture issue and you are not alone. Try putting a firm pillow under your knees tonight, it will relax those tight hip flexors.
