How to sleep with acid reflux disease?

My doctor recently said I have acid reflux disease, and it's really affecting my sleep quality. I wake up with a burning throat and chest almost every night. How do people with this condition manage to get good sleep?

Every time I lie down to sleep, I get this burning feeling in my throat and chest that makes me feel like I am choking. Does anyone else get so anxious about sleeping because of this? I try using two pillows but the discomfort is still there.

Honestly, the only thing that worked for me was stopping late-night snacks. I eat my dinner by 8 PM now, and when I sleep, I lie strictly on my left side with a high pillow. If I sleep on my right, the acid burning starts within ten minutes.

My teenage son suffers from bad reflux and couldn't sleep for weeks. We raised the head side of his bed mattress by placing a few blankets underneath, which helped immensely. Make sure they don't lie flat immediately after drinking water or milk before bed.

I developed severe throat ulcers because I ignored my acid reflux for a long time. While sleeping on an incline and on your left side gives temporary relief, you must get an endoscopy or consult a doctor to manage it properly before it damages your esophagus.

Managing both blood pressure and reflux has taught me that early dinners are crucial. Sleep with your head elevated on a firm wedge pillow and try to avoid any carbonated drinks or heavy spices in the evening. Keep tracking your health parameters regularly.
