How to sleep with abdominal pain?

I'm having really bad abdominal pain tonight, it feels like cramps but worse. I can't seem to find any position that helps ease the discomfort so I can sleep. What's the best way to sleep with this kind of pain?

My gastroenterologist told me that sleeping on the left side is the most beneficial position for abdominal pain as it reduces gastric pressure. If you are bloated, bending your knees slightly towards your chest can relieve tension on the abdominal wall. Never use a heating pad if you suspect appendicitis.

Please do not ignore severe abdominal pain. I once tried to sleep off what I thought was simple indigestion, and it turned out to be a severe gallstone issue that required emergency care. If the pain is sharp, constant, or you have a fever, please go to a hospital instead of trying to sleep.

I have noticed that high blood pressure and poor digestion often go hand in hand if my lifestyle is off. To sleep comfortably with a mild stomach ache, I prop up my head with extra pillows and keep my dinner light. Regular health checkups are essential to track these symptoms.

Since I have thyroid issues, my digestion is often slow, leading to frequent bloating and abdominal pain. I find that sleeping on my left side with a warm compress helps immensely. If you face this regularly, do get your thyroid levels checked as it affects gut motility.

For tonight, try sleeping on your left side to see if it reduces the pain naturally without any medicine. If the pain continues tomorrow, go to a government dispensary or a diagnostic center with reasonable rates to get an ultrasound done. It is better to get it diagnosed early before costs pile up.
