How to sleep with a sore throat?

Got a really bad sore throat from changing weather and now it's painful to swallow or even just breathe. I'm dreading bedtime because I know I won't be able to sleep comfortably. Any advice?

Honestly i am asking myself the same question at 3 AM right now. Every time I try to swallow it feels like glass, so I have just stacked three pillows to stay semi-upright. Keeping a warm thermos of water nearby is the only thing saving my sanity tonight.

Whenever my throat gets really bad, I just do warm salt water gargles right before hitting the bed. It temporary numbs the area enough for me to drift off. I also keep a steam inhaler on my nightstand to use if I wake up choking in the middle of the night.

Please be careful if the pain is making it hard to swallow even water or if you have a fever. While keeping your head elevated on pillows helps with the irritation, it is always best to consult a doctor. Don't let it stretch for days without a proper checkup.

Haan na, this throat pain makes it so difficult to get even two hours of proper rest. What helps me is keeping a small piece of ginger in my mouth, or just drinking warm haldi milk before sleeping. Thoda relief mil jata hai and you can sleep peacefully.

Look, stop drinking cold water immediately and switch to warm water. Take a steam session just before going to sleep and wrap a light muffler or dupatta around your neck to keep it warm. Do these basic things and you will sleep much better tonight.

I just went through this last week and literally spent two nights sleepless. What finally worked for me was running a small room humidifier and keeping my head quite high on two thick pillows. It stops the post-nasal drip from aggravating the throat while you rest.

I feel you, it is literally the most annoying feeling when you want to sleep. Try having some warm herbal tea with a little honey just before you lie down. Also, try sleeping on your side instead of your back so the throat doesnt feel so dry and blocked.
