How to sleep with a nasal congestion?

I'm experiencing really bad nasal congestion, and it's making breathing difficult, especially at night. I keep waking up because I can't breathe through my nose. How can I position myself to sleep better with this congestion?

Nasal congestion can be due to many things, not just a common cold. While some simple remedies might seem harmless, relying on random internet advice isn't smart. If it's bothering your sleep, it's best to consult a doctor. They can diagnose the cause and suggest safe, effective methods, maybe even an antihistamine or nasal spray if suitable.

Ugh, nasal congestion is so annoying, especially when you're trying to sleep! It makes everything feel worse. I've found that using a humidifier in the room can sometimes help, and elevating my head with an extra pillow provides some relief. Just be gentle with your nose, don't overdo it with sprays unless a doc says so.

Ah, nasal congestion, a common nuisance. In my time, we always used steam. A hot shower before bed helps too, or a little Vicks rub on the chest and under the nose. Elevating your head is also a good old trick. It feels miserable now, but it will pass, beta.

Block nose? Simple. Take steam. Boil water, put towel on head, inhale. Do this just before sleeping. Also, keep your head a bit raised with extra pillows. It will help drain the mucus better. Don't lie flat, you'll feel more choked.

Oh man, I just got over this! The only way I could sleep was by keeping my head really elevated with two pillows, almost propped up. And hot steam inhalation just before bed, literally sitting over a bowl of hot water with a towel over my head for 10-15 mins. It temporarily clears it up enough to fall asleep.
