How to sleep with a kidney stent?

My uncle recently had a kidney stent put in, and he's finding it extremely hard to sleep. He says he feels discomfort and is worried about shifting around too much. What's the best way to sleep comfortably with a kidney stent?

Oh, a kidney stent is tough. My uncle had one last year. He found it a bit less painful when he slept on his side, but kept a pillow between his knees for support. Every person is different, so what worked for him might not work for everyone, but worth a try maybe.

Arre yaar, stent waala sleep bahut tricky hai. Haan, mere friend ko bhi laga tha. Woh bolta tha ki thoda elevated position mein sota tha, like do pillows laga ke. Bolta tha ki discomfort kam lagta hai usse. Dekh lo, try kar ke.

Stents are quite serious, so please make sure you're regularly in touch with your nephrologist. As for sleeping, did your doctor give any specific instructions? Sometimes certain positions can put pressure. Maybe ask them about using a wedge pillow or something similar, it often helps with many conditions.

Oh no, a kidney stent sounds so uncomfortable! I'd be so worried about moving too much in my sleep. Have you tried sleeping on your back with a pillow under your knees? Sometimes that helps with general back comfort, which might ease the stent feeling. Don't stress too much though, talk to your doctor about this.

Dealing with a kidney stent definitely needs careful management. The best advice will always come from your treating doctor, as they know your specific condition. Generally, avoiding positions that put direct pressure on the kidney area helps. Have you tried a reclined position, perhaps with extra pillows for support?

Yo, my uncle had a stent. He said sleeping on his back with a pillow under his knees was okay, or sometimes on the side that *didn't* have the stent. It's kinda trial and error, man. Just find what hurts least.

A kidney stent is a serious procedure. While I don't have experience with stents, I've learned that listening to your body is key for any health condition, especially if you have other issues like diabetes. Focus on what feels least uncomfortable and always follow your doctor's exact instructions. Don't risk anything.

Hey, it's completely normal to struggle with sleep when you have a stent. Don't push yourself too much. Try experimenting with different pillow placements – sometimes a small cushion supporting your lower back or tummy can make a big difference. Just focus on resting well, even if it's not perfect sleep.

For a kidney stent, position can really matter. Many patients find comfort sleeping on their unaffected side, or with a pillow under their knees if lying flat on their back. Avoid sleeping directly on your stomach or the side with the stent if it causes pain. And please, if the pain is severe, do call your doctor, don't just endure it.
