How to sleep with a broken collarbone?

My brother just fractured his collarbone and is really struggling to sleep due to the pain and the sling. What are the best positions or tips to help him sleep more comfortably with a broken collarbone?

Dude, I broke my collarbone playing cricket once. It sucked. I found it easiest to sleep on my back, slightly propped up with a couple of pillows. And honestly, a recliner was a godsend for the first week. You just gotta stay super still.

Ugh, a broken collarbone sounds like a nightmare. I guess sleeping on the side that's not broken would be impossible. Maybe trying to sleep sitting up a bit, like in a lounge chair? Or piling pillows behind your back to make a comfy incline? My friend did that after a shoulder injury.

I've had my share of minor injuries, and getting sleep is always the hardest. For a broken collarbone, try propping yourself up with a lot of pillows to sleep almost upright. A recliner is good if you have one. Sometimes a warm bath before bed, if your doctor allows, can help relax muscles, just be super careful getting in and out.

Broken collarbone means no heavy lifting for a while, obviously. For sleep, focus on keeping that area completely stable. Also, good nutrition with bone-strengthening foods like leafy greens and dairy (if you consume it) is important for recovery. Don't push anything.

You need to sleep on your back, propped up. A wedge pillow is ideal for this. The goal is to prevent any movement of the collarbone while you're asleep. Absolutely no sleeping on your sides or stomach until your doctor gives the go-ahead.

When the body is healing, gentle support is key. Try placing a small, soft pillow under the injured arm to keep it slightly elevated and supported, even when lying on your back. Focus on very gentle, slow breathing to relax the body and mind before sleep. Be patient with your healing journey.
