How to sleep with a broken clavicle?

I broke my clavicle last week and it's in a sling. Lying down is really uncomfortable and I can't find a position that doesn't hurt. How can I manage to get some sleep with a broken collarbone like this?

Oh, a broken clavicle sounds really painful. I haven't experienced it, but I imagine it's super hard to find a comfortable position. Do you have to sleep sitting up, or can you lie down? What kind of pillow do people usually use?

Recovery from a broken bone is tough, especially for sleep. While it's not directly related to sleeping position, make sure your diet is on point with enough protein and calcium for bone healing. And once your doc clears it, gentle movement is key for blood flow, but obviously no heavy lifting or pressure on the clavicle.

Ah, a broken clavicle, I remember when my son had one after a fall. It takes time, dear. The trick is to find a position where there's absolutely no pressure on it. Sometimes sleeping in a recliner helps, or propped up with many pillows on your back. It will get better, don't worry.

A fractured bone can make the body feel agitated. For sleep, try to find a position where your breathing feels unhindered. Gentle pranayama, if not painful, can help calm the mind before rest. Support the area carefully; sometimes elevating the upper body slightly can ease discomfort and promote restful sleep.

My friend broke her collarbone once and she said sleeping was the hardest part! She ended up sleeping semi-upright on the couch for a few weeks, propped up with a bunch of pillows. She said it was the only way she could keep her arm still and avoid rolling onto it. Maybe try that?

It's completely normal to feel anxious about how to sleep with an injury like that, I've been there with my own health scares. The worry itself can make sleep harder. Just remember, your body needs to heal. Focus on keeping the arm immobilised and find whatever position gives you the least pain, even if it's not ideal. You'll get through it.

Oh dear, a broken clavicle needs careful handling. While you want comfort, the main thing is to keep it immobile. Maybe try sleeping in a recliner chair, or propping yourself up with many pillows in bed so you're almost sitting. But for serious pain or discomfort, you MUST consult your doctor. Don't ignore it.

Sleeping with a broken clavicle would totally mess up my sleep scores! I'd suggest trying a wedge pillow to keep your upper body elevated. This can reduce swelling and keep your shoulder stable. Also, track your sleep to see if certain positions are actually giving you better rest, rather than just feeling 'okay'.
