How to sleep when ur on ur period?

Every month, when my period starts, sleeping becomes a nightmare. The cramps and general discomfort just keep me up. Is there anything specific that helps to sleep better during this time?

Haan, periods are tough for sleep, na? The cramps and all. I usually put a hot water bag on my stomach, it really helps with the pain. And wear super comfy loose clothes. Sleeping on your side in a fetal position can sometimes ease the cramps. Hope it helps!

This is so relatable! The discomfort is real. Do you guys find that certain foods or drinks before bed make it worse during periods? Like, should I avoid coffee completely?

Ugh, periods are already a mess, and then sleep decides to abandon you too! I sometimes worry if the pain means something more serious, but mostly it's just normal cramps. I try to listen to calming music and use a heating pad. If the pain is unbearable, definitely speak to a doctor though.

Don't ignore severe period pain or very heavy bleeding that disrupts your sleep frequently. I once thought it was normal and just suffered, but later found out it could have been managed better. If over-the-counter pain relievers aren't enough, please see a gynaecologist. Seriously, get it checked.

Even during periods, light exercise, if your doctor allows and you feel up to it, can help with cramps and improve sleep. A short walk or some gentle yoga can really make a difference. Avoid strenuous workouts, but a little movement helps release endorphins which can reduce pain and improve mood.

Ah, the period struggle is real, my dear. I remember those days! A hot water bottle was my best friend. And try sleeping on your side with knees slightly bent. Also, don't forget to put an extra towel down just in case for heavy flow nights, it gives you peace of mind to sleep better.
