How to sleep train a six month old?

My six-month-old baby just doesn't want to sleep in her crib; she needs to be rocked or fed to sleep every time. I'm really keen on sleep training her now. Any good tips on how to do it for this age?

Haan ji, 6 months is a perfect age. Humne toh try kiya tha Ferber method. Thoda tough hai starting mein, baccha rota hai na, par after a few days it gets better. Consistency is imp. Make sure you both are ready for it.

It's a big step. Just remember to be patient and kind to yourself and your baby during this process. You'll figure it out together.

My pediatrician suggested the 'fade out' method for our 6-month-old. Basically, you gradually reduce your presence in the room as they fall asleep. We started by sitting next to the crib, then moving further away each night. It took time, but it was gentle and effective. Consistency is crucial, my doc said.

Just to be on the safe side, it's always best to consult your pediatrician before starting any sleep training methods for a 6-month-old. They can offer personalized advice and ensure there are no underlying health concerns. It gives peace of mind.

As someone with thyroid, I always emphasize looking at the bigger picture. Before sleep training, please check with your baby's doctor if everything is fine, especially their growth and overall health. Sometimes, underlying issues can affect sleep. Regular check-ups are important.

For my little one, a strong bedtime routine with a warm bath and reading a book worked like magic. Also, making sure they had enough solids during the day helped. But if your baby seems in pain or genuinely unwell, then please, straight to the doctor. Don't delay.

I really regret not getting my baby checked when he had sleep issues. Turned out he had a slight ear infection which made lying down painful. So please, before you try any methods, just confirm with your doctor that everything is medically okay. You don't want to make a baby suffer unnecessarily.

Six months! So cute! 🥰 My friend swears by dark curtains and white noise machine. It makes the room a peaceful sleep cave! 😴 Good luck!

A good routine is essential. Start with a warm bath, gentle massage, and then a feed. Make sure the room is dark and at a comfortable temperature. You can try introducing a lovey or a comfort object if your pediatrician approves. Don't expect immediate results, it's a gradual process.

Beta, at 6 months, babies start understanding routine. Humare ghar mein toh, a light oil massage before bath and then jhoola (cradle) with a lullaby used to work wonders. Keep the atmosphere calm and loving. If the baby is uncomfortable, please see a doctor, but otherwise, patience is key.
