How to sleep train a 1 year old?

My one-year-old takes forever to settle down at night and frequently wakes up. I've heard sleep training can help. How do I sleep train a one-year-old effectively?

Oh, sleep training is such a big topic, it can feel overwhelming! I remember reading so many articles and getting super anxious about doing it 'right'. Just remember every baby is different, so what works for one might not for another. Be patient with yourself and your little one.

For something as crucial as sleep, especially at that age, it's always best to get a pediatrician's advice. We had some sleep issues with our first, and a doctor consultation really helped us understand if there were any underlying reasons. Don't take chances, consult a professional.

My doctor always stressed consistency with routines for babies, just like how important regular check-ups are for my thyroid. Maybe try a consistent bedtime routine? Like bath, massage, story, and then bed. Helps signal to the baby it's sleep time.

I'm just starting to think about this for my cousin's baby, it seems so challenging. When you say 'sleep train', do you mean letting them cry it out or is there a gentler way? Just curious to learn more.

It's totally normal to feel overwhelmed by sleep training. I remember feeling so anxious about my own health issues, and that anxiety can translate to parenting too. Just know you're doing great and seeking advice is the first step.

Yaar, sleep training is such a headache, honestly. My bhabhi tried everything with her one-year-old. She actually said consistency is key, even if it feels like it's not working for a few days. Don't give up quickly!

I once ignored some health issues thinking they'd go away, and it just got worse. For sleep training, I'd say if your baby is having extreme difficulty, or you're just very worried, a quick chat with their doctor can give you peace of mind and proper guidance. Don't second guess yourself.

Just like how I manage my BP with a routine and regular checks, I've seen parents create strong routines for their kids' sleep. Early dinner, quiet play, then bed. It takes time, but it works. And don't forget your own rest, it's important for parents too!

Humare ghar pe toh, ek time table bana liya tha. Fixed time for bath, for food, for sleeping. And haan, make sure room is dark and cool. Simple things work best, no need for fancy methods. Thoda time lagega, but ho jayega.

Just like we crave our favourite snacks, babies also crave routine and comfort before sleep! Maybe a warm milk or a light snack before bed could help set the mood? And a gentle lullaby, like a delicious dessert before snooze time!

Our pediatrician explained that at one year, babies are capable of self-soothing, but they need a predictable environment. She suggested creating a dark, quiet room and having a clear 'wind-down' routine. Consistency, she said, was more important than the specific method itself.
