How to sleep train 18 month old?

My 18-month-old refuses to sleep through the night and wakes up crying. We've tried everything! Any tips on how to successfully sleep train an 18-month-old toddler?

Sleep training can be tricky, especially with toddlers. Every child is different, so what works for one might not work for another. I'd really suggest talking to your pediatrician first. They can give you tailored advice and make sure there's no underlying reason for the sleep issues. Better safe than sorry when it comes to little ones!

Honestly, sleep training an 18-month-old needs a bit of patience and consistency. We tried a few methods with our son around that age. The Ferber method or 'cry it out' is quite popular but tough on parents. Definitely, read up on different techniques and, most importantly, discuss it with your child's doctor to see what's best for your baby's development.

Hey! For an 18-month-old, a consistent bedtime routine is super important. Warm bath, a story, then bed – same time every night. Also, make sure their room is dark and quiet. Sometimes, they just need to learn to self-soothe. Give it a few days of consistent effort, it usually pays off.

Oh, tell me about it! Sleep training an 18-month-old was quite a journey for us. We ended up trying the 'chair method' where you gradually move further from their crib. It took time, like a couple of weeks, but it eventually worked for our daughter. Just know that some crying is normal, but trust your gut if it feels too much.

Hey, it's tough when little ones don't sleep well, I know. Just remember that every baby is different. Try to create a very predictable bedtime routine and stick to it daily. Don't feel bad if it takes a while, consistency is the main thing here. You're doing great, just be patient with yourself and your baby.

Beti, ghar pe toh hum log baccho ko thoda doodh pila ke aur lori gaa ke sulate the. Zyaada tension mat lo. Pyaar se samjhao, unko apna bistar comfortable lagega toh woh khud hi so jayenge. Sab theek ho jayega.

Bete, little ones need a loving routine. Pehle toh, make sure they are not hungry or too tired when you put them down. Kabhi kabhi, halka sa tel ki malish se bhi bacche ko acchi neend aati hai. And tell them a soft story, it helps calm their mind. But har bacche ka apna tareeka hota hai.

18 months, haan? Meri toh abhi bhi poori neend nahi hoti, lol. But on a serious note, consistency is key. My wife and I just made sure the routine was super fixed, even on weekends. Thoda rona-dhona hota hai shuru mein, but they catch on. Good luck, you'll need it!

We just went through this with our daughter! What worked for us was a firm but gentle approach. We established a 'sleep space' routine – pajamas, brush teeth, a quick lullaby, and then into bed. We'd sit nearby for a few minutes, then leave. It took about 10 days for her to start sleeping through the night consistently. Very tiring but so worth it!

OMG, when my son was 18 months, I thought I'd never sleep again! He would wake up every 2-3 hours. I was so stressed. But honestly, it's just a phase for most kids. We just stayed consistent with his bedtime routine and after a few weeks, he started sleeping better on his own. Don't panic, it gets better!

I'm not a mom yet, but I've heard sleep training can be really challenging. Is there a specific method you are planning to try, or are you looking for suggestions on different techniques? I'm curious to learn more about it as well.

For kids, physical activity during the day really helps with good sleep at night. Make sure your 18-month-old gets plenty of playtime, maybe a walk in the park or just running around. If they're sufficiently tired physically, they'll often sleep better. Of course, check with your doc if they have any specific health issues first.
