How to sleep to ease back pain?

My back pain is really bothering me, and I struggle to find a comfortable position at night. Any suggestions on how I should sleep to ease this constant back pain?

Same problem here! Sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees really helps to align the spine. Give it a try.

Hello everyone, I'm new here and just started experiencing back pain. Is it better to sleep on a really hard surface, like the floor, or is a medium-firm mattress enough? I'm a bit confused.

Besides sleeping position, gentle stretching and walking can do wonders. Of course, only if your doctor says it's okay. Building core strength also helps support your back, which indirectly improves sleep comfort.

Honestly, I used to struggle so much with this, especially after long hours at my desk. What helped me was investing in a good, firm mattress and always using a small cushion under my lower back if I sleep on my back. It makes a huge difference.

Honestly, getting an MRI for back pain can be quite expensive, so before going for big tests, try basic things like correct posture and sleeping positions. Maybe try a body pillow first, rather than immediately buying a new mattress, if budget is a concern.

Ugh, back pain is the worst. I feel like no matter how I sleep, it just hurts. Does anyone else get restless legs along with their back pain? It makes sleeping impossible.

Beta, don't worry too much, many of us face this as we get older. What helped me was just experimenting with pillows. I found that a small rolled-up towel under my neck and a pillow under my knees when sleeping on my back gave me the most relief. Find what works for you, slowly.

Yaar, when my back hurts, all I want to do is lie down and eat comfort food! But then I feel guilty. I wonder if eating certain anti-inflammatory foods could even help with the back pain indirectly, along with good sleep positions?

I've been reading so much online about this! It seems like sleeping on your stomach is generally the worst for back pain, but some people swear by it. It's confusing to figure out the right way with so much info out there.

Please, for back pain, it's always best to see a specialist. My doctor at Apollo told me to never guess with back issues, they can get worse. Get a proper diagnosis and they will tell you the best sleeping position for YOUR specific problem.
