How to sleep on your side without shoulder pain?

For months now, I've been waking up with terrible shoulder pain, and I think it's because I always sleep on my side. What can I do to sleep on my side without this constant shoulder pain?

Ha ha, welcome to my life! I sometimes feel like I need a personal assistant just to position my pillows. Honestly, a good memory foam pillow for your head and another one to hug helps. And sometimes, I just give up and sleep on my back, even if it's less comfy.

Shoulder pain while sleeping can sometimes be a sign of something that needs a doctor's attention, especially if it's new or getting worse. Please don't ignore it. It's always best to get it checked by a professional to rule out anything serious before trying home remedies.

While pillow support is key, I've noticed that for general body aches, managing my sugar levels properly and avoiding inflammatory foods really makes a difference. It might not directly stop shoulder pain, but overall body comfort helps sleep. Always check with your doctor for specific pain, though.

For persistent pain, especially if it affects your sleep, my advice is always to consult a good doctor, maybe an orthopaedic specialist. They can diagnose the exact cause. Just tell them clearly 'I get shoulder pain when I sleep on my side' and they will guide you best. Don't delay.

Been there, done that! My physio told me to make sure my neck is aligned with my spine. So, use a pillow that fills the gap between your head and shoulder. Also, a pillow between your knees and hugging one helps keep your upper body stable so you don't roll onto your shoulder awkwardly. Trust me, it works.
