How to sleep on long flights?

Next month I have a very long international flight for work, almost 16 hours! Last time I flew, I barely slept and felt so tired. Any tips on how to actually get some good sleep on the plane?

It's a common struggle, don't worry too much. Focus on creating a personal space for yourself. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring a soft travel blanket, and try to avoid stimulating activities like watching movies right before you want to sleep.

For long flights, I find it helps to walk around the cabin occasionally to keep circulation going, which is good for everyone, especially if you have high BP. Also, make sure you take your medications on time. Try to avoid caffeine and alcohol as they can interfere with sleep and hydration.

I totally get it, long flights are exhausting and sleeping is almost impossible sometimes. What helps me is a good quality neck pillow, an eye mask that blocks all light, and a playlist of really boring, calming music. Creating that 'sleep bubble' is key.

After enjoying all the delicious airline food (or lack thereof!), sleeping can be a challenge. I usually try to eat lighter meals on flights and save the heavy biryani for when I land! A light stomach definitely makes it easier to doze off, even in economy.

Ah, long flights! In my younger days, I could sleep anywhere. Now, it's a bit harder. But a good neck pillow, warm socks, and trying to adjust your sleep schedule a few days before you fly really does help. Don't push yourself too hard to sleep, just rest.
