How to sleep in airplane?

I have a long international flight coming up and I always struggle to sleep on planes. Any tricks or positions that help to actually get some rest in an airplane seat?

Sleeping on an airplane can be challenging. A good quality neck pillow, eye mask, and earplugs are essential. Try to get a window seat so you can lean against the wall. Hydration is also key. For specific concerns about jet lag or motion sickness, always consult your doctor for personalized advice.

Just flew last month for a long-haul, and it was rough! What helped me was wearing really comfy clothes, taking a small neck pillow, and definitely an eye mask. Also, downloaded some white noise. Try to get a window seat if possible, way easier to lean against and get some rest!

I'm flying for the first time soon, and I'm a bit nervous about sleeping. Besides the neck pillow, should I try to stay awake until the flight to make myself tired? Does that really work for long flights?

As someone with thyroid issues, my energy levels and sleep can be quite unpredictable. On planes, I find it even harder. So, I make sure my thyroid levels are checked before travel. And for the flight, I try to stay hydrated and use a comfortable neck pillow. It's always best to follow your doctor's advice for managing travel with health conditions.

For short flights, sometimes just relaxing your mind with some gentle music or a good book is enough. Avoid heavy meals and too much caffeine before. But if you have severe anxiety about flying or consistent trouble sleeping on planes, it's important to speak with a doctor, as there might be underlying issues.

Getting good rest on a flight helps maintain your fitness routine when you land. Hydration is super important to avoid feeling groggy. I also try to do some light stretches before boarding and during the flight to keep the blood flowing and prevent stiffness, which makes sleeping easier.

For extended travel or if you have pre-existing conditions affecting sleep, it's always advisable to consult a doctor before your trip. They can advise on things like sleep aids, managing jet lag, and preventing DVT (deep vein thrombosis) during long flights. Don't self-medicate, ask your doctor clearly what's best for your health.

I've travelled extensively for work. My key to airplane sleep is comfort: loose clothing, a good noise-cancelling headphone, and that U-shaped neck pillow. I also try to eat light before the flight and set my watch to the destination time as soon as I board to mentally adjust. Small things make a big difference!
