How to sleep elevated?

My doctor suggested I try sleeping with my head elevated because of my acid reflux issues. I've tried using extra pillows, but it's not very comfortable. How can I sleep elevated comfortably and effectively?

I've been sleeping elevated for years because of acid reflux. Don't just stack pillows under your head, it'll hurt your neck. The best way is to elevate your whole torso. You can buy a wedge pillow or even put blocks under the head of your bed frame. Makes a huge difference, trust me.

Sleeping elevated can help with a few things. The most effective way is a foam wedge pillow that supports your back and head, not just your head. Or, you can carefully raise the head of your bed frame by placing sturdy blocks under the legs. Just make sure it's stable and safe, you don't want to fall!

I've heard about sleeping elevated, but I'm not sure how to do it comfortably. If I just stack pillows, my neck hurts. Is there a special kind of pillow for this, or some other way to make it work without being awkward?

I tried sleeping elevated once by just piling up pillows, and I ended up with really bad neck pain. It actually caused more problems than it solved. If you need to sleep elevated for a medical reason, please consult your doctor or a physiotherapist first. They can recommend the correct way or equipment to avoid complications.

Back in my day, we used to just put some thick books under the bed legs to lift it a bit, for when the breathing was a bit heavy. Now there are special pillows for it. The main thing is to make sure your neck and spine are aligned. Don't just prop up your head, the whole upper body needs a gentle slope. It does help.

Using a wedge pillow under your mattress or directly under your body can help elevate comfortably.
