How to sleep comfortably on a plane?

Next month I have a really long international flight for work, almost 15 hours. I usually struggle to sleep even on short flights, always ending up with a stiff neck. Any tips to sleep comfortably on a plane so I don't reach completely exhausted?

For a plane, it's all about preparation. A good quality neck pillow (the memory foam ones are great), an eye mask, and noise-cancelling headphones are non-negotiable. Wear comfortable clothes, hydrate well, and try to adjust your sleep schedule to the destination time zone even before you fly. Maximise efficiency!

Don't just trust every random tip you see online for sleeping on a plane. If you have any underlying health conditions, especially related to blood circulation or breathing, talk to your doctor. They can give proper advice that's safe for you, not just generic hacks.

I used to dread long flights because I could never sleep. Thought I'd be exhausted for days. But then I realized a window seat, a good neck rest, and just accepting that it won't be perfect sleep helped. It's normal to feel restless, just try to relax. It always passes.

Oh god, sleeping on a plane always makes me anxious! What if I get a stiff neck, or deep vein thrombosis? I try to do ankle exercises, drink plenty of water, and wear compression socks. And a good neck pillow is a must, no compromises there. Safety first, always!

When flying, especially on long hauls, managing diabetes means keeping blood sugar stable. Avoid sugary drinks offered on board. Pack healthy, low-GI snacks. This helps prevent energy crashes or spikes that can make it hard to sleep, even with comfort aids. Stay hydrated with plain water.

Just flew last month! A good eye mask and noise-cancelling headphones were absolute lifesavers. I also packed a small, inflatable footrest to prop my feet up slightly, and that made a huge difference to my lower back and overall comfort. Try it if you can!
