How to sleep after tooth extraction?

I had a tooth extracted this morning, and the numbness is wearing off, leaving me quite uncomfortable. I'm worried about dislodging the blood clot while I sleep. Any advice on how to sleep safely and comfortably after a tooth extraction?

Be really careful! I had a dry socket once because I wasn't gentle enough. You MUST sleep with your head elevated, like with extra pillows, to prevent swelling and bleeding. And absolutely no vigorous rinsing or spitting. If the pain is severe and not managed by meds, or you see unusual swelling, call your dentist immediately. Don't take chances.

After a tooth extraction, what you eat can definitely affect how you feel and sleep. Stick to soft, cool, and easily chewable vegetarian foods. Avoid anything hot, spicy, or crunchy which can irritate the site. A light, easy-to-digest dinner, and proper hydration throughout the day helps your body recover and makes it easier to sleep.

For sleeping, try propping your head up with two pillows, it helps reduce the throbbing. A cool compress on your cheek for a bit before bed can also be soothing. But remember, these are for comfort. If you have extreme pain, fever, or excessive bleeding, please, don't delay seeing your dentist. Natural remedies are good, but a doctor is for serious issues.

Direct advice: Elevate your head. Sleep on your back. Avoid the side of the extraction. Take your pain meds as prescribed, half an hour before you plan to sleep. No straws, no smoking, no alcohol. Strict compliance is key to avoid complications.

Arre beta, after daant nikalne ke baad, thoda dard toh hoga. Par aapko sir uncha karke sona hai, do takiye laga lo. Uss side pe mat so jahan daant nikala hai, haan. Dheere dheere sab theek ho jayega, chinta mat karo. Aaram se so, jaldi theek ho jaoge.

Ugh, tooth extraction is the worst! I remember after my wisdom tooth, sleep was impossible. What helped me was sleeping semi-upright with like, three pillows. And I made sure to take my painkiller right before bed. Also, keep a clean towel on your pillow just in case, it saves you morning laundry stress. You'll get through it!

Oh god, this is exactly the kind of thing I'd stress about after surgery! What if I roll over? What if the clot comes out? Try to breathe deeply. For sleep, seriously, elevate your head with two, even three pillows. And try to create a barrier with extra pillows on the side you normally sleep on, just to prevent any accidental turns. It will be okay.

Elevating your head with pillows is absolutely essential for managing swelling and pain. Don't lie flat.
