How to save someone from a heart attack?

My father recently had a scare, and it made me realise how important it is to know what to do in an emergency. If someone collapses suddenly, how can I tell if it's a heart attack and what's the first aid I should give while waiting for help?

This is such an important question, it's good you're thinking about it. First and foremost, if someone is showing symptoms, call for an ambulance IMMEDIATELY. Don't delay even a minute. While waiting, make them sit or lie down comfortably, loosen tight clothing, and if they have prescribed nitroglycerin, help them take it.

Oh, this sounds really scary. What are the main symptoms one should look out for, so we can identify it quickly? And is there anything else practical we can do besides calling an ambulance?

Knowing CPR is literally life-saving. There are apps and online courses that teach proper CPR techniques, it's worth investing time in learning it. Also, encourage people to track their heart rate and blood pressure regularly, especially if they have risk factors. Early detection of issues can prevent heart attacks.

For prevention, a calm mind and healthy lifestyle are key. Regular pranayama and gentle yoga can strengthen the heart and reduce stress, which is a major factor. If someone is having an attack, ensuring they stay calm and taking them to a hospital immediately is the most important thing. Breathe deeply with them if possible to help them relax a little.

Yaar, don't stress too much, but it's good to be prepared. The main thing is to call emergency services fast, like really fast. And if you know basic first aid or CPR, that's a huge bonus. Otherwise, just try to keep the person comfortable and calm until help arrives. It's not your job to be a doctor on the spot.

Ho na, this is very crucial to know. Pehle toh, immediate medical help. Call 108 or whatever ambulance number is there. Then, if the person is conscious, a simple aspirin tablet (not coated) can help, but only if they're not allergic or don't have other issues. And always keep them calm, that's very important.
